Neu im DJ Pool: Chris Brandon feat. Mr. Fabulous - Promised Not To Drive
Ihr liebt Sensationen? – Dann lest das: Chris Brandon, von Geburt an blind, setzt sich in ein Auto und fährt. Zu sehen ist diese Ungeheuerlichkeit in seinem aktuellen Musikvideo. Zu hören aber ist ein Popsong mit absolutem Hitcharakter, in dem er viel verspricht und wenig hält: „Promised not to drive“.
Doch keine Angst – alles ging gut. Mehr noch: Chris Brandons neue Single könnte dem sympathischen deutschen Ausnahmesänger nun auch bei uns endlich die Anerkennung bringen; die ihm in den USA bereits zuteilwurde: - Sowohl "Real Love", als auch "Smile Smile" schafften dort Platzierungen in der Top10 der Country Charts. Und brachten den Großneffen des King Of Pop auf den Plan: Ryan Presley schrieb ihm den Song „Love the World away“ auf die wohlklingenden Stimmbänder.
Den Text zu „Promised not to drive“ indes hat Chris Brandon selbst geschrieben! Von Geburt an blind, stellte der in Mannheim geborene Sänger stets die Frage. „Was muss passieren, damit ein Blinder einfach in ein fremdes Auto steigt und Gas gibt?“ Die Antwort war für Chris schnell klar. „Nur aus Liebe würde man wohl sowas tun.“ Und so erzählt er in „Promised not to drive“, wie ein verzweifelt Verliebter ohne Führerschein einfach losfährt. Mit der Polizei im Nacken und Liebe im Herzen, will er es unbedingt in einem gestohlenen Auto zu seiner Angebeteten schaffen.
Kaum war der eingängige Popsong, zu dem der Allgäuer Mr. Fabulous die Musik zusteuerte, im Kasten, stand für Chris fest: „Jetzt muss ich es wirklich tun, kneifen gilt nicht“. Und so drehte Chris den Zündschlüssel um und gab tatsächlich Gas. Eingefangen wurde die Autofahrt des blinden Sängers von zahlreichen Kameras für das außergewöhnliche Musikvideo zum Song. „Zum Glück hatte ich professionelle Begleitung, die das Schlimmste verhinderte und aufpasste, als ich am Steuer saß, eine absolut geniale Erfahrung“, lächelt Chris. Und der Erfolg gibt ihm Recht: Schon vor der Veröffentlichung seiner neuen Single gibt es außergewöhnlich viel Lob der Medien, z.B. im renommierten Musikfachmagazin Musix.
Mit „Promised not to drive“ von Chris Brandon wird man also auf jeden Fall gut fahren! Der brandneue Song ist ein ebenso und packendes Pop-Juwel, produziert vom Komponisten selbst: Mr. Fabulous.

Neu im DJ Pool: Tibursky - Settle Down
Am 12. Januar 2024 erscheint „Settle Down“, die erste Singleauskopplung des neuen TIBURSKY – Albums, das voraussichtlich Anfang Mai veröffentlicht wird. Das Songwriter-Duo, Johannes Tibursky (Berlin) und John Stewart (Glasgow), kombinieren in den Songs, neben Abstraktem, auch persönliche Höhen und Tiefen. „Settle Down“ kommt im Gegensatz zu anderen Songs des Albums, treibend, tanzbar und elektronisch daher und verbindet dies mit der unverkennbar typischen Art des Songwritings von TIBURSKY. Mitreißender, melancholischer Gesang zu treibenden Bass-Sequenzern, die im Musikvideo mit einem Road-Trip durch Indien wunderbar in Szene gesetzt werden. Für die B-Seite hat Jaya Shakira in London einen entspannten Ambient-Remix beigesteuert. Weitere Remixe von Berliner Künstlern werden in den kommenden Wochen erscheinen.
